Using the Snap-Jet Ignition System on the Weber Spirit Grill
The Snap-Jet ignition system allows you to ignite each burner individually with ease. Follow these steps to safely use the system:
Steps to Ignite the Burners
- Open the Lid:
- Always open the grill lid before igniting the burners to prevent gas buildup.
- Ensure Burners Are Off:
- Check that all burner control knobs are in the off position by pushing in and turning them clockwise.
- Turn On the Gas Supply:
- Open the LPG cylinder valve by turning it anticlockwise or move the regulator lever to the on position, depending on your regulator type.
- Ignite the Burners:
- Start with the burner furthest to the left:
- Push and hold the control knob in for two seconds.
- Turn the knob anticlockwise to the start/high position until you hear a snap sound.
- Continue holding the control knob in for two seconds after hearing the snap. This action will spark the igniter and light the burner.
- Start with the burner furthest to the left:
- Check the Flame:
- Look through the cooking grates to ensure the burner is lit.
- Repeat for Remaining Burners:
- Follow the same steps to ignite the other burners, moving from left to right.
If the Burner Does Not Ignite:
- Turn the burner control knob to the off position.
- Wait five minutes to allow the gas to clear.
- Repeat the lighting procedure.
- If the burner still does not ignite, refer to the Troubleshooting section in the Owner’s Manual for further instructions, including how to ignite the barbecue with a match.
Safety Warnings:
- Always open the lid during ignition.
- Do not lean over the barbecue while igniting or cooking.
- If ignition does not occur within four seconds, turn the burner control knob to the off position, wait five minutes, and try again.
- Never use a flame to check for gas leaks.
By following these steps, you can safely and effectively use the Snap-Jet ignition system on your Weber Spirit grill.
